To be a local catalyst connecting people with urban nature, improving quality of life and social cohesion in Lincoln, NE.

Green, shared spaces help neighbors meet, reduce loneliness, and encourage stewardship of the places we all use.

Goals

  • Grow and care for friendly green spaces in local neighborhoods.
  • Host outdoor, non-medical, well-being activities that connect residents.
  • Build a volunteer network to care for trees, trails, and small parks.
  • Mobilize sustainable support from residents and local businesses.

Main Programs

  • Neighborhood Green Day: litter pickup, tree planting, repainting benches & signs.
  • Trail Meetups: Saturday morning group walks on local trails (all ages).
  • Shared Garden: compact community garden with seed swap and basic plant care tips.
  • Community Mixers: themed outdoor meetups (swap old items for plants, mini nonprofit fairs, etc.).

How to get involved

  1. Volunteer: garden care, lead walks, event photography.
  2. In-kind support: tools, paint, benches, labeled bins.
  3. Community giving: help fund trees and supplies (tax-deductible per IRS rules).
  4. Partner: co-host Neighborhood Green Days.

Activities: Planting 200 new trees, trail cleanup, and repainting park benches and signs.
